Sprigfolio

Sprigfolio Privacy Policy

Developer: Binary Data Technology · App: Sprigfolio (Android package com.binarydatatechnology.sprigfolio) · Version 1.0.0 · Effective date: 5 September 2026

Summary

Sprigfolio is an offline mind map and outline maker. It does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no cloud service in the app, and the app declares no internet permission. Everything you create stays on your device until you choose to export or share it.

Data the app stores on your device

DataWhere it livesWhy
Maps: titles, topic labels, notes, branch colours, ordering, collapsed branches and layout directionApp-private storage on your deviceSo your maps are there when you reopen the app
A previous snapshot of each map fileApp-private storageSo an interrupted save cannot destroy your work
Preferences, such as your appearance settingApp-private storageTo remember your choices
Files the app has prepared for you (exports and backups)App-private storage, until you clear themSo you can inspect, save or share the file you created

Data the app does not collect

Sprigfolio does not collect names, email addresses, contacts, location, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, usage analytics or diagnostics. It makes no network requests of its own. The only things that leave the app are the support email address, which opens in your own email app, and files you explicitly hand to another app.

Permissions

Sprigfolio requests no runtime permissions. Backups are read, and exported copies are written, through Android's own document picker, which gives the app access only to the single file you select.

Exports, backups and sharing

When you create an export or a backup, Sprigfolio first writes the file into its own storage. PNG and PDF map exports contain topic labels, branch colours and a marker showing which topics have notes. Plain text and Markdown outlines contain topic labels and the full note text. A JSON backup contains the saved map data in your library.

Open, Share and Save a copy hand that file to an app or document provider that you choose. That app or provider then handles the file under its own privacy practices, and any copy it keeps remains until you delete it there. Sprigfolio never selects a recipient or uploads your maps on its own.

Exports and backups are not password-protected. Anyone who obtains a readable copy can read its contents, so review a file before sharing it if it contains private notes.

Restoring a backup

Sprigfolio validates the backup file you select and shows a preview before restoring it. A normal restore adds new copies of its maps and leaves the maps already in your library unchanged. The backup document you selected is never modified. An invalid or unsupported backup is rejected with an explanation rather than partly imported.

How long local copies remain

Deleting a map removes it from the active library. A previous recovery snapshot may still contain recently changed or deleted content until a later successful save. Settings → Clear prepared files removes older exports and backups from the app's own storage while keeping your library, its recovery files and the file you most recently prepared.

Clearing Sprigfolio's app storage or uninstalling the app removes its app-private maps, preferences, recovery files, backups and exports. It does not remove copies you saved elsewhere or shared with someone else; manage those with the provider or recipient.

Device backup settings

Sprigfolio excludes its local data from Android cloud backup and device transfer, so no copy of your library is created on Google servers by the app. Use the app's own backup and restore controls to move your work to another device.

Support messages

If you choose to email support, your email service transmits your address, your message and any attachment to Binary Data Technology. That correspondence is used only to answer your request and investigate the issue you report, and it may remain in the support mailbox afterwards. You can email the address below to ask for your support correspondence to be deleted; such a request cannot delete copies held by your own email provider. Please include only what is needed, and do not send private map contents unless you intend to share them.

Children

Sprigfolio is a general-audience productivity app intended for people aged 13 and above. It is not directed at children under 13, it does not ask for an age or date of birth, and it collects no data from anyone.

Security

Your maps are held in Android's app-private storage, which other apps cannot read on an unmodified device. Because the app has no server, there is no server-side copy of your data to protect or to breach.

Third parties

The app bundles no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDK. The open-source libraries it is built from — Android, Kotlin and AndroidX components, used under their own licences including the Apache License 2.0 — run entirely on the device.

Changes

If a future version introduces any data collection or a connected service, this policy, the in-app privacy screen and the Google Play Data safety section will be updated to describe it before that version is released, and this page will carry a new effective date.
