Keeping your work
Edits save automatically on your device. Wait for "All changes saved" before closing. Undo and redo cover the last 60 edits in the current editing session and reset when you reopen a draft. Duplicate keeps an editable copy. Backup in the editor writes a portable ZIP containing your captions and photos; Restore backup on the home screen checks that file first and then adds a new draft without replacing anything you already have.
Common questions
Does it need the internet? No. The app has no Internet permission at all and works fully offline.
Are there ads, accounts or purchases? None. There is also no watermark on your exports.
Where do my exported images go? Wherever you choose in the Android save dialog. Quiptych does not write to your gallery on its own.
My caption runs off the edge. Turn on Safe margin guides in the editor, and check the Export preview — the app warns you when a caption extends beyond the image. Reduce the text size or widen the caption box.
Saving failed. Keep Quiptych open, free some device storage and tap Retry save. Your edits are still in the editor until they save.
A photo is missing from a draft. Open the Photos controls and choose a replacement for that panel, or restore a backup.
A backup will not restore. A damaged or unsupported backup is rejected before anything is written, so your existing drafts are never overwritten. Try an earlier backup file.
Can I move drafts to a new phone? Yes — create a Backup ZIP, copy it to the new device, and use Restore backup. Android cloud backup is deliberately disabled for this app, so this is the way to transfer your work.
Does it work on tablets? Yes. On larger screens the canvas and the controls sit side by side.
