Privacy Policy
Effective August 24, 2026
Voxellum is a local-first Android voice-note app published by Binary Data Technology. This policy describes the launch version identified by package com.binarydata.voxellum.
What the app processes
When you choose to record or import audio, Voxellum processes that audio, transcripts, edited notes, tags, and settings on your device. The microphone is accessed only after you start a recording or dictation action and Android grants permission.
Where your content goes
The launch version does not include accounts, cloud synchronization, advertising, or analytics SDKs. Recording, supported on-device transcription, transformations, search, and storage are designed to remain on your device. Voxellum does not upload note text or audio to Binary Data Technology.
Optional keyboard
If you enable the Voxellum keyboard in Android settings, it can insert text into ordinary editable fields only after you start dictation. It refuses password and other sensitive fields and does not read surrounding text.
Storage, sharing, and deletion
Audio and notes are stored in the app's private Android storage. You control exports and Android share actions. Retention settings can remove saved audio after transcription or after a chosen period. Trash is reversible until you choose permanent deletion. Android may remove all app data when you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
Permissions
- Microphone: required only for recording and voice dictation.
- Foreground service: keeps an active user-started recording reliable when the app is not visible.
- Files selected by you: used to copy imported audio into private app storage.
Children
Voxellum is a general-audience productivity app and is not directed to children under 13.
