DAIS

Privacy Policy

Effective September 5, 2026

Dais is an offline Android speaker and programme timer published by Binary Data Technology. This policy describes the launch version identified by package com.binarydata.dais.

What the app processes

Dais stores the programmes you build (segment titles, speaker names and durations), the recorded times of sessions you run, and your settings. All of it is kept in the app's private storage on your device.

What leaves your device

Nothing, unless you choose it. Dais has no account, no advertising, no analytics and does not request the Internet permission, so it cannot send data to Binary Data Technology or anyone else. The only ways information leaves the device are actions you start: exporting a CSV file to a location you pick, importing a file you pick, or sharing a session summary through the Android share sheet after seeing a preview of the exact text.

Permissions

Dais requests no runtime permissions. Files are read and written only through the Android document picker for the file you select.

Backup

Your programmes, session history and settings are included in Android's standard app backup and device-to-device transfer if you have those enabled on your device. That backup is handled by Google under your Google account settings, not by Binary Data Technology.

Retention and deletion

Data stays on your device until you delete a programme or session inside the app, clear the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstall the app. Binary Data Technology holds no copy, so there is nothing further for us to delete on request.

Children

Dais is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13. It collects no personal information from anyone.

Changes

If a future version adds any data collection, this policy and the Google Play data-safety declaration will be updated first, with a new effective date.
