Speaker timer for talks, meetings and programmes · Android

Getting started

Create a programme, add a segment for each speaker or item with its planned time, then tap Start. The live screen shows the time left in large digits with a label for each phase: On time, Wrap up soon, Finish now and Over time.

The timer kept counting while I was in another app

That is by design. The countdown is based on the device clock, so it stays correct while you switch apps, rotate or lock the screen. Pause it if you want it to stop.

No chime played

Chimes play only while the timer screen is open, and only if Chimes is switched on in Settings. Check the device media volume. The label and icon change even when sound is off.

The device restarted during a session

Dais estimates the elapsed time from the clock, pauses the session and shows a notice. Check the time, adjust with the extend buttons if needed, then resume.

CSV import says a row has a problem

The preview highlights the row and explains the issue. Fix it in place, for example by changing a duration to 12:30, then import. Durations accept m:ss, h:mm:ss, plain minutes, or forms like 12m 30s. Export any programme to see the exact column layout.

Where is my data?

Programmes, session history and settings are stored only on your device. Deleting a programme or session in the app, clearing the app's storage, or uninstalling removes it. Binary Data Technology keeps no copy.
