Who provides Threshold

Information kept on your device
Threshold stores the city and coordinates you select, calculation settings, observance schedule, local history, settings, commitment text, blocked apps and domains, excused-day records, and a cached subscription or reviewer-access state in Android app-private storage. This information supports the app’s scheduling, history, blocking and offline operation.
Threshold’s current release cannot create new cloud backups. A local Export file leaves app-private storage only when you choose a destination through Android’s document picker. Binary Data Technology does not receive that file.
Permissions and local processing
- Usage access lets Threshold detect the package name of the app currently in the foreground so it can show the shield for an app you selected. Threshold does not transmit or retain a history of opened apps.
- Display over other apps shows the shield. It does not let Threshold read another app’s contents.
- Notifications, alarms, vibration and run at startup support reminders and observance-window timing.
- Internet and network state support Google Play entitlement checks, required reviewer/paywall configuration, optional Analytics and Crashlytics, and deletion of a retained legacy cloud record.
Threshold does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, calendar, SMS, accessibility-service access, advertising identifiers, or permission to query every installed app.
Information transmitted to service providers
Required Firebase configuration
Threshold uses Firebase Remote Config to deliver reviewer and paywall configuration. Google Firebase automatically receives country code, language, time zone, platform and operating-system version, Firebase app identifier, package name, Remote Config SDK version, and a per-installation Firebase installation identifier. The country code is approximate location inferred without Android location permission. Threshold never sends your selected city or coordinates to Firebase.
Optional Analytics and Crashlytics
Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics are off by default. If you enable either in Settings → Privacy, Google Firebase may receive app interactions, crash logs, performance diagnostics, device/app metadata and pseudonymous installation identifiers. Threshold’s allow-list and content scrubber are designed to prevent prayer history, city, blocked apps or domains, commitment text, devotional text, tradition and excused-day information from being included. You can turn either option off without losing app functionality.
Google Play subscriptions
Google Play processes subscription payments. Threshold receives purchase and entitlement status so it can unlock paid features and restore access. Binary Data Technology does not receive your card number, bank details, billing address, Google password or Google account email.
Retained legacy-cloud deletion
Earlier development builds could create an anonymous Firebase identity and Firestore backup. The current release cannot create new cloud backups, but it retains a deletion-only path so Settings → Delete everything can remove an earlier remote copy. That cleanup may transmit the existing anonymous Firebase user identifier. It is not a name, email address or other real-world account identity.
Sharing, selling and advertising
Threshold has no advertising SDK, does not use an advertising identifier, does not sell personal information, and does not share data for advertising. Google processes the limited information above as a service provider for Firebase and Google Play. Google’s own retention and legal obligations apply to data it controls.
Retention and deletion
- Local app data remains until you delete it in Threshold or uninstall the app.
- Settings → Delete everything removes user data from the device and retries deletion of any retained legacy Firestore copy.
- Short-lived local deletion markers may remain for up to 90 days to prevent a restored local backup from recreating records you deleted.
- Optional Analytics and Crashlytics information and Google Play transaction records follow Google’s applicable retention policies.

Security
Network requests use encrypted HTTPS connections. Local information is kept in Android app-private storage, and Android automatic cloud backup is disabled. A local export is protected by the storage destination you choose. No system is perfectly secure, and this policy does not claim otherwise.
Children
Threshold is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child’s information was transmitted to a service used by Threshold, contact us using the address below.
Your choices
You can disable Analytics and Crashlytics, export a local backup you control, delete app data, uninstall the app, or contact Binary Data Technology about a privacy or deletion request. Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide additional privacy rights.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the effective date above will be updated and notice will be provided where required.
