Getting started
Add your gear first, on the Gear tab: a guitar, an amp, and each pedal you use. Give every piece the knobs and switches it really has. Then create a preset, add that gear to it in signal-chain order, and write down where each control was set.
The starter controls are wrong for my amp
They are only there to save typing. Rename them, change the range and unit, change a knob to a switch, or delete them. Rigmark has no gear database and makes no claim about your equipment.
I need a value like 3.7 but the slider only moves in halves
Type it into the value field next to the control name. The slider is limited to the step you set for that control; a typed reading is not, so you can record exactly what you saw.
My chain is in the wrong order
Use the up and down arrows on each step. Order is part of the sound, so Rigmark keeps it exactly as you set it, in the preset, on the card and in a backup.
I deleted the photo from my gallery and now it is gone
It should not be. Rigmark copies a photo into its own storage the moment you attach it, so the picture stays with the gear even after you move or delete the original. If a photo does disappear, tell us the Android version and how the original was removed.
What happens if I delete a piece of gear?
Rigmark tells you which presets use it before anything is removed, and you can cancel. If you go ahead, that step and its readings are removed from those presets and the remaining steps are renumbered. The presets themselves are not deleted.
Where is my backup file?
Wherever you chose to save it — the system file picker decides the location, not the app. The suggested name is rigmark-backup-YYYYMMDD-HHMM.zip. It is an ordinary .zip, so you can open it in any file manager to see what is inside.
A restore was refused
Rigmark reads a backup before writing anything and refuses a file it cannot trust, giving the reason: not a Rigmark backup, damaged, or made by a newer version of the app. Nothing in your notebook is changed by a refused restore. Before a restore that can proceed, you are shown what the file contains and asked whether to add only missing records or replace matching ones.
Where is my data?
Only on your device. Deleting records in the app, clearing the app's storage, or uninstalling removes them. Binary Data Technology keeps no copy.
